When you’ve finally gotten her to come up to your apartment, you want to be sure that it’s going to help you score at some point. Having a messy, crowded studio isn’t going to turn her on. Especially if she has to step over clothes or pizza boxes to get to the bed. This isn’t all about keeping your house clean, though. It can look crowded even by how you set it up or decorate it. Your home should be an extension of who you are, so just make sure that it’s a good one.
Keep It Clean
In both looks and traditional ways. Keeping your apartment clean will make you feel better and put her at ease. It’s always impressive when anyone can keep a small place clean, especially a guy. Pick up every day if it’s possible. While it might feel better to put it off for later, you’ll just end up with a giant pile of stuff going on. Even worse, if she comes over unexpectedly you’re not going to have time to put it away.
Putting in plants and having pets can make an apartment feel cozy and welcoming, but the moment they start to die you’ve got to get rid of them. It’s best, of course, to keep everything alive and green, but having dead leaves hanging out isn’t going to win you brownie points. While having a pet around is awesome, it’s also another thing you have to look after. She isn’t going to want to snuggle up to Mr. Bones if he’s smelly and shedding all over her clothes. Bathe him at least once a week and keep his fur under control.
You want to be smart with the pictures you put up. While you may have a ton of different favorites, having them all out at once is going to make everything look cluttered. Get a photo album for the coffee table and put all of your personal photos in there. As for the rest of the apartment, if they’re going to be out they need to be lined up well and have some thought behind them. An option that’s a bit more…sensitive is to actually take your pictures and put them on pillows. It shows a lot of effort and does say that you care about the people in it. Just make sure that it’s not a giant picture of you. That would be weird.
Declare What Room It Is
This sounds very odd, but keep in mind that apartments are very tiny places most often. So if you’ve got a situation where your bedroom and your living room are the same, you’ve got to decorate it like a living room. It’s going to be so creepy if she comes up and has to sit on your bed when it’s just that. Putting one long side against the wall and having large pillows against said wall will make it look and feel more like a couch and less like you’ve skipped the first few bases and went straight for home plate.
