Avoiding Site Scams
A real kinky dating site is going to have real women on it. It’s a plain and simple fact, and that’s why if you join a dating site and see a ton of fake profiles, it’s probably time to run.
Scams are everywhere, but avoidable.
It might be alarming to realize that most dating sites will have scams on them. A lot of guys expect to simply hop onto a dating site and see nothing but gorgeous ladies on them…but unfortunately, all dating sites just aren’t created equal.
The most common problem that we end up running into is fake profiles for sure, and fortunately, it’s a pretty easy thing to spot right off the bat. If you start seeing profiles that just look like porno shots (or worse still, the same photo, different names), then you’ve definitely got a problem on your hands.
Fake profiles are just the tip of the iceberg.
It’s unfortunate, but there are a lot of bigger issues out there. Fake ladies and cam girls might be extremely irritating to deal with, but they’re usually harmless unless you walk into one of their deliberate traps. The real kinky dating site scams are the same kinds of scams that you’ll see all over the internet: bots, phishers, and spambots.
You may have never experienced one of these kinds of scams before, and that’s why you need to be extra careful whenever you login. There are many common kinds of scams related to these sorts of things, so it’s good to know the different kinds, and how to avoid them.
Skimmers and bots will steal your information.
While it might seem sort of pointless for them to take the time to steal your login information, remember that on paid sites, you actually have your credit card info stored. You also have your birthdate, and sometimes, other information required for verification that could help these bots steal your identity.
It’s important never to access a dating website through an e-mail link, or at the very least, to never login through an e-mail link. Even if you’re receiving a special offer through an e-mail, it’s always best to go to the site first to verify that the offer itself is actually going on. Otherwise, it might be a bot trying to steal your information.
Never enter your login information unless you are 100% sure that you are on the correct page. This way, you’ll guarantee that you’re being safe when accessing your favorite dating site.
There are other popular scams, too.
One of the other most popular scams that we have seen while conducting our kinky dating site reviews is the credit card information stealers.
This will actually happen when you least expect it, so always be vigilant. You will not only run into “members” of these sites attempting to steal your credit card information from you, but you will also run into fake billing forms.
These are similar to the kinds of forms that will try and steal your login information. They might look authentic, but you will actually be giving your information to a third party that has nothing to do with the site itself.
It’s important to always be sure of whom you’re giving your information to.
With your credit card and login information, you need to always make sure that you are accessing the real and actual site before you put it into any sort of form and hit submit. Otherwise, you will find yourself with a stolen identity, and quite a few credit card transactions that you didn’t authorize.
Another common scam that we have seen is scammers posing as administrators on the site. Never, ever give your information to someone sending you a message or e-mail and posing to be an admin unless they are actually able to prove that they are administrators.
As a general rule, most administrators will never ask for your personal information, and they will especially never ask for you login or password. They will never accept credit card information over e-mails, so there’s no reason for them to be asking for this sort of thing from you.
Always double check everything.
By being vigilant, checking over your credit card statements, and checking the actual site that you are on, you will be able to stay safe easily on any online dating site. It’s unfortunate that scammers are out there trying to ruin your fun, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore them and still stay safe.
We’ve seen a lot of people get scammed over the years – but they were always avoidable things. That’s why we’ve taken the time to point this sort of stuff out to you, and make it clear that while it does happen, it’s still quite preventable.
We also are sure that the sites we’ve reviewed will give you a good idea of what to really look out for, and it will make your experience much more enjoyable in the long run.
